hippo birdwings won the audience award for best short film at this year’s london underground film festival. many thanks to whoever voted. expect more short films of a similar nature in the coming months

hippo birdwings has been picked as part of the official selection of film for this year’s london underground film festival.  it is being shown during the saccadic pursuit part of the evening on thursday 1st december at the horse hospital in london. come down and vote for it if you have the evening spare

i recently took a trip to genoa in order to source some sounds from the area and to make some field recordings using different microphones and equipment. a sound piece that has resulted from this trip can be listened to on soundcloud here

i have also been in the process of making some new music with a view to producing a vinyl release. i have made some video work to accompany two of these pieces – lion cheater and moroccan slipback.  they can also be seen on the video page

i have made a short film clip showing the one string bass guitar in use. in this instance it is simply sending out an audio signal which is then being effected via ableton live.

seafo od recip es, the first collection of songs using the name of the slate pipe banjo draggers is now available as a free downloadable album with artwork on the music page. it was made whilst living in leeds around 2005/6. some of the songs received radioplay on bbc 3′s late junction and on wfmu in new york. many thanks to all who knowingly or unknowingly contributed

this is the name of a self titled album which i made in collaboration with some friends from manchester in 2005. it is available for free download on the remixes and collaborations page. further details are there, download it and enjoy

hippo birdwings, one of the short films that i have made for the work in progress that investigates friendship and celebrates the differences that exist between people, is now being shown this sunday 19th june as part of a kino 10 short film night in birmingham.  go see it if you are in the area

many thanks to all who came to the private view at raven row last week.  there seemed to be a lot of hands on interactivity with the wall hung copper based artwork.  it is on display until july 17th and if you haven’t seen and played with it yet, go down and have a look, as well as the other exhibits.  there are some pictures of the piece in the private view included at the start of the exhibition set below
