the short film i made called monkey chicken is being shown again at another film night in london. it is at the crown and two chairmen on dean street in soho in london on sunday 1st november. it starts at 7.30pm and ends about 10pm. come and watch it, and the other films too, if you are around

the other month i submitted my big jack plug and modified distortion box as a proposal for the
artsway gallery 2009 open exhibition and – i got selected !

so if you are in the sway area near southampton between the 21st november and the 24th january come and have a look at it and interact with it to make some really loud noises. further details from the artsway website via the link thing above

the a thing about machines festival went very nicely and the ‘enlarged jack plug mains hum instrument and rehoused effect box amalgamation, yes’ performed its racket making task extremely well. many thanks to everyone who attended and special thanks to cormac faulkner the festival organiser. click on the images below to have a look, click on the words to make a big picture.

if you are near coventry from the 24th to the 27th of september then come along to the thing about machines art festival in various venues in the city. my massive jack plug and distortion box amalgamation piece will be on display there for you to have a look at and make a big racket with. i will be there too for a bit so come and say hello and talk a bit. here is a linky :

after plenty editing of sounds and film stuff i have finished a short film of the piece that i made for the degree show – have a look on the video page
i made it partly for my own amusement but also to include on some applications to try and get the piece displayed in other galleries and exhibitions, rather than having it taking up space at home
if you are interested in exhibiting the piece in your gallery or….in buying it….please to be getting in touch

all went pretty good and the thing actually worked properly for the entire 5 day show. many thanks and all that for however helped and gave me guidance along the way. thanks also to everyone who came along. im going to sort out some noisy little film thing of the whole event soonish

‘necessary descriptive term for large item made of materials and sound (i didn’t want to call it untitled)’ is now disassembled and i am looking for somewhere to put it next

now i might make some music and try and find some studio space or something to make some more sonic art stuff

the sonic art display project thing down brick lane

spent the best part of the last year making this.
it is a fairly massive six square metres and contains a computer and electronics and sensors and things.
it will be on display at the truman brewery down brick lane from the 4th to the 8th june.
it plays sounds in relation to how far or near you are to it.
it can play up to six sounds at once therefore making a fair bit of a cacophony.
most of the sounds are bits from well known pop songs, some not so well known.
come down and have a look.

hi
this is the new updated website for andy rowe, associated sound and image projects and my musical project and collaboration thing that is the slate pipe banjo draggers. have a look and a listen around and get in touch if you want to say hi and fancy collaborating or whatever. or going out for a beer

my current news is that i am almost finished a three year degree in sonic art at middlesex university. the degree show is at the truman brewery down brick lane. i’m trying to finish off my big interactive installation and am pretty stressed about it what with doing all the essays and suchlike. also there is the sound in context video piece i have made as well, called ‘monkey chicken’, its latest (pretty much final) incarnation is on the video page.
